Laminate flooring
With the big rise of PVC flooring, it seems like we have forgotten about laminate flooring, but that is absolutely not true! In our showroom, you will still find a beautiful and wide collection of laminate in different colours and designs. The laminate floors we sell are all click flooring from quality brands. They comply with the strictest European requirements and standards and are produced sustainably. Therefore, you will not find cheap laminate flooring with us.
Laminate benefits
A good laminate floor will last for years, is easy to maintain and often easy to install. Laminate should be laid loose, floating and clear of walls and window frames because there is always the chance that it will bleed slightly. A small or large skirting board is therefore unavoidable. With special underlay foil and somewhat thicker insulation boards, the underlay can be made slightly level and levelling is often not necessary and laminate can be laid almost immediately. Our professionals will be happy to lay laminate at your home, including the subfloor and finishing of the skirting boards. However, if you are a handy handyman, laminate is also easy to lay yourself and saves you the cost of labour.
Laminate or PVC
Laminate clearly has a lower price and often the look and authenticity with regard to wood is slightly less than PVC. Nevertheless, a laminate floor can be the best choice for you. The top layers of a laminate floor often don't differ much from a PVC floor. The first layer, the top layer, largely determines the quality in terms of scratches and ageing. The decor layer forms the image of the floor. The wood print, tiling, design and colour are all in the decor layer. This is no different with a PVC floor. The base layers of both products are different, however, not only in thickness but also in composition. With laminate, the underlayer is often made of plastic such as melamine mixed with wood, which gives it its stability and thickness between 7 and 9 mm. PVC flooring gets its name from its underlay consisting of an alloy of PVC. These floors are generally somewhat thinner. The dryback version 2.5 to 3 mm and the click qualities from 4 to 6 mm.
